About Our Company
Wise Minds Therapeutic Services (WMTS) is a community-based human service mentoring agency that offers a comprehensive range of support for at-risk youth and their families. WMTS is dedicated to delivering strength-based, child-focused, and family-centered services, placing a significant emphasis on family preservation. Recognizing the importance of early intervention, WMTS strives to prevent or significantly reduce the need for out-of-home placements for at-risk youth. While acknowledging that out-of-home placements may be necessary in some cases, WMTS adopts a proactive approach, providing tailored in-home services aimed at maintaining family unity. Our services cater to at-risk children, adolescents, young adults up to the age of 21 (transitioning into adulthood), and caregivers as needed.

Positive Youth Development (PYD) is an approach that focuses on fostering the holistic well-being of young individuals, aiming to empower them to reach their full potential.
Cultural competency refers to the ability to effectively interact with people from different cultures and backgrounds. It encompasses understanding and respecting diverse beliefs, values, norms, and customs, as well as recognizing the impact of culture on behaviors and attitudes.
Crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques are vital skills for effectively managing and diffusing tense or volatile situations. These approaches focus on swiftly and calmly addressing crises, such as mental health crises, conflicts, or emergencies, with the aim of preventing escalation and promoting safety for all involved parties.
Family engagement and empowerment are fundamental principles in fostering healthy and thriving communities. It involves actively involving families in decision-making processes, recognizing them as valued partners in the well-being of individuals, especially children. Empowering families means providing them with the resources, information, and support they need to advocate for themselves and their loved ones

The training introduces individuals to key concepts and terminology pertaining to the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, intersex, and asexual (LGBTQIA) community, in order to promote greater understanding and awareness.
